Always remember how solid and planted on the road this car felt at the time, it was no rocket ship but it always felt brisk and was a surprisingly good car to do longer journeys in. Shame they are such a rare sight these days.

There’s a Jowett Javelin abandoned at the back of a garage near me in Horsham. It’s all overgrown with brambles and obviously been there decades. It looks complete, but the interior is stuffed with storage items of all descriptions. Great shame to see it there.

I bought a 1972 V6 Essex GT auto’, in 1974 in Down Under Australia, and guess what, I’ve still got it! It’s fully restored in pristine condition with tweeted up motor & gearbox, trimmed and painted to my specifications. I’ve handed it over to my son to be the custodian of this great car and I will make do with my 2020, 5.0 Coyote Mustang.😂🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘

Nah Mk1 3000 gtxlr (mine) thrashed the living daylights out of it ( mostly sideways). Wasn’t the most stolen car back in the day for nothing.

Ivan reminds a lot of Allen Millyard. Humility, enthusiasm, intelligence and engineering wisdom. Their willingness to explore and innovate, and showing respect to the originals, without getting too hung up on the 'purity' aspect, is very refreshing.

I had a MGC. years ago and it’s totally different from the B. It’s a lot faster. 120 mph. And easy to drive because it’s a torquey engine. 146 bhp. 60 mph in about 9 seconds. I’ve had a lot of sports cars TR5 TR6s. But the best to drive was my 1975 Alfa spiders. 127 mph once. Good Acceleration. 60 in 8 seconds. But it drove fantastic the handling was great. Also had a few Lotus Elans. About the same speed as the Alfa and handling. If I was to get another MB. I would put a small block v8? Mustang. About 300 bhp. That would be fast. ❤

Didn't the Germans have synthetic fuel back in WWII? Union Pacific railroad tried using a coal derivative called bunker oil in their turbine locomotives. I know they were using coal, but do we have any emission reports from its use? If emissions are reasonable (with today's technologies), we have a lot of dirty coal we might be able to use if we can clean up the emissions comparable to or better than oil. Even the political considerations are worth investigating if that is a viable option. Do you have any thoughts?

With a 4/5 link system installed on the rear they in many ways beat the Triumph all independent setup. Which can break especially if you use the old rubber joints.

I owned one of these which was a year old. Timing chain snapped at ??? mph. Under warrany by Lotus/GM, and it took three/four months to repair. There were not enough pistons around at the time. Great car, but wouldn't go there again.

I refer to underpant warriors as 'gangly tricyclists'. Probably made in China on it's way to landfill, ideally suitable for a four year old toddler.

A bit prone to rust but I live in Montreal ,Canada . My first Car bought at 15 , paid 100 Canadian .1973 made in England , 2600 cc Engine . I remember when I would open the door it would fall on my toes . The hood poped open while driving on the highway and I banged my head trying to stick it out the window to see where I was going . My tire also fell off .Car packed with 3 buds in back and 2 girls in front . We saw a tire go flying by and it just kept rolling ( lucky I never killed anyone ) , until it hit a fence 300 meters down the road , it was only when I pressed the brake and the weight and momentum shifted did the car fall / lean on the the front right side . The list of mishaps and near death experience s were unlimited BUT I would not trade those years for all the money in the World .. I loved that car , I dreamt about the car and my gang loved driving with me . I could drive even if we smoked 10 joints in the car . I drove straight and true . I miss that car .

There are several different techniques for producing green synthetic fuels and this is where a big chunk of the future lies. And you're not going to fly the Atlantic on batteries, are you? But all future fuels are produced using electricity, so we need to get electricity production sorted out as well, before the uranium runs out.

Wow had one of these back in the 1992 and absolutely loved it.. Just wish I could have another one for sensible money but thats never gonna happen😂
